VEYAY

Veyay guardian and student notices

Version: 2026-10-14.3 Status: Candidate notice. It describes, in full, what Veyay's parent and learner notices cover. The exact consent text a parent agrees to is the versioned parent notice shown inside Veyay, and Veyay records that version with the parent's agreement; that in-product text must say nothing this page does not. Until the parent lane is opened by its own approval, no lane is open and nothing on this page records consent.

Notice for a parent or guardian

Not available yet. Parent-managed learner accounts are currently closed unless Veyay separately identifies the applicable age band, jurisdiction, consent version, provider routes and activation record. The descriptions below are not permission to create or use a learner account before that activation, and publication of this notice does not activate it.

Operator and contact. Veyay is operated by Cabildo Companies LLC, 2014 Electric Rd, #249, Roanoke, VA 24018, United States. Privacy, parent-rights, deletion, correction and consent questions may be sent to support@veyay.app, or call +1 (762) 438-3539 (calls are forwarded to Cabildo; if nobody answers, you can leave a voicemail, but do not leave a child's personal details in it). Neither is an emergency or safeguarding hotline. Before your child starts, the consent screen identifies this notice's exact version and the learner features and disclosed provider routes it covers. It does not authorize collection, use or disclosure inconsistent with this notice. A material change requires an updated notice and any renewed consent required by law before the changed processing begins.

What you are agreeing to. You are creating a Veyay learner account for a child who lives in your home, full-time or part of the time, and whom you care for as a parent, stepparent, grandparent or other relative, or legal guardian. This notice calls you the child's parent for account-management purposes only. That label does not establish legal parenthood, guardianship or consent authority. For a child under 13, the required consent must come from a parent or legal guardian within COPPA's meaning; residence, caregiving status and a paid seat alone do not establish that status. When you add your child, Veyay stores the name, date of birth and household link you give so the account can be set up. Your verified consent is required before Veyay uses your child's information to provide learning or discloses it to a provider, and your child cannot start without it. You give consent by reading this notice and affirmatively agreeing in Veyay, with your paid learner-seat purchase providing the verification described below. Veyay records this notice's exact version, your account, your relationship to the child, the time and your affirmative action. If that record cannot be saved, your child cannot start.

How Veyay verifies you. Buying a paid Veyay learner seat is how Veyay checks that you are the parent agreeing. There is no separate email step. A full refund, a payment reversal, or a payment dispute decided against the payer ends the seat and the verification that payment funded. A dispute still open, or decided for the payer, does not. When a seat ends, your child's access ends; your agreement record is kept as history, not rewritten.

What Veyay collects about your child and why. Veyay collects the name and date of birth you give; the household link to you; learner-account, seat, sign-in and access-control records; your child's learning conversations and writing; the sources and passages they work with; observable session events, such as questions asked or conclusions revised; any teacher feedback and teacher-entered grades; and material you add to their study shelf when that feature opens. If speech is enabled, the audio is processed into text by the provider the Privacy Notice names for your child's age, and Veyay does not keep the source recording. Veyay also processes bounded technical and security information needed to operate and protect the service. Veyay does not ask for your child's email address.

Veyay uses this information to provide and resume the enabled learning experience, manage authorized parent and educator access, operate the seat, record consent, provide records and deletion, support and secure the service, and respond to verified requests and legal obligations. The disclosures to parents, educators, AI providers and other service providers serve those purposes. The Veyay Privacy Notice, at https://veyay.app/legal/privacy, describes these uses, disclosures, providers and retention limits in further detail.

Who sees your child's work.

Where your child's words go. Veyay sends only what a turn needs — the source passage, instructions, your child's message and that session's own conversation — to an AI model run on Cabildo's behalf. It never sends a behavioral profile, your child's other conversations, or anything Veyay has stored about your child outside that session.

Material you add for your child. The study shelf is not available until its own lane is separately activated; until then Veyay accepts no file or photo for it. When it opens, only a parent adds files or photos to a child's study shelf. You take responsibility for having the right to add each item, as the Uploaded-Material Rights and Takedown Notice describes. Veyay keeps the text it reads from the file, not the file itself.

What Veyay does not do. Veyay does not use your child's work for advertising, sell it, or create an ability, character, mastery or risk score. It is not watched by a person in real time and does not send automatic safety alerts.

Your child's work after a class ends. (Not available yet: post-class vaults are closed until Veyay's activation record identifies this version for the family lane.) In a class on Veyay that is not run by a school, Veyay may copy your child's own written work and reflections, with the class title and dates, into a personal vault that belongs to your child. It does this only if, before the class ended for your child, you accepted a version of the Terms that includes the post-class vault section for your child; that acceptance is recorded on its own, apart from your agreement to this notice. Nothing an AI model wrote is copied. Nothing is copied earlier than 14 days after the class ends for your child, and nothing is copied if the class is reopened, or your child rejoins it, within those 14 days. Who can open and delete it:

Deleted work is not copied back. Only the parent or guardian linked to your child's account by Veyay's live guardian record has this access; a co-parent who did not set up the account does not. Your access and any future copying end if that link ends, your child is no longer your dependent in Veyay, you withdraw your acceptance of that Terms version, or your payment for your child's seat is refunded, reversed or lost in a dispute. A seat that simply ends at the close of its paid period ends your child's use of Veyay but does not by itself end your access to work already in the vault. Ending your access does not delete the vault. No AI model reads the vault after the copy, and nothing in it is used for training or to build a profile. You can still ask Cabildo for your child's records, a correction, or deletion where the law gives you that right.

Your choices. You may at any time:

Withdrawing your agreement does not by itself delete records; ask for deletion if you want that too. Send requests to support@veyay.app, or use the controls in Veyay where they are available.

How long Veyay keeps it. Veyay retains a child's personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the specific purpose for which it was collected. An active account, class, seat or guardian relationship does not by itself justify continued retention. Cabildo deletes information when that purpose no longer requires it, subject only to the separately disclosed, necessary and documented survivor purposes and retention criteria. Veyay does not retain a child's personal information indefinitely. Within that rule, Cabildo keeps learner information only while the account, class, seat or other authority it depends on remains active, unless a shorter schedule applies, and deletes active-system learner records on a verified deletion request or an account deletion, subject to the disclosed billing, security, legal-hold, complaint, provider and backup limits. Provider abuse-monitoring copies and rolling backups follow the separate schedules in the Privacy Notice and retention schedule.

A school's permission is recorded separately, limited to that school's educational use, and is never treated as a parent's agreement.

Notice for a learner

You are talking with an AI, not a person. It can be wrong. Check your source and use your own judgment.

Veyay tells you who can read your work — your teacher, any co-educator such as a teaching assistant, and your parent's summary or a session you choose to share — and when that access ends. Veyay does not keep recordings of your voice. To get a copy of your work, fix something, or delete it, ask your parent, or write to support@veyay.app.

If your parent teaches you in a family learning room, your parent is that class's teacher and can read that class's work.

Veyay counts observable actions in a session — questions you asked, sources or passages you considered, counterarguments you engaged, and conclusions you changed. Those counts do not say what kind of person or student you are. Veyay does not turn them into a grade. The person teaching you reviews the work and records any grade.

(Not available yet: post-class vaults are closed.) After a class ends, Veyay may copy the work you wrote into a vault that is yours, if your parent agreed to that. Until you are 13, your parent can open and delete it. From 13, you can open it and only you can delete it, and your parent can still open it. At 18 it is only yours. If you delete something, Veyay does not put it back. To ask about your privacy, talk to your parent or write to support@veyay.app.

Only your parent can add material for you. Your study shelf opens only when Veyay turns it on.

Veyay is not watched by a person in real time and does not send automatic safety alerts. If you are in danger, or someone is hurting you, tell a trusted adult or contact local emergency services. In the United States you can call or text 988, or call the Childhelp hotline at 1-800-422-4453.
