Veyay puts the reasoning process on display. The teacher sees the student reason through each turn — what was asked, what was claimed, what evidence was used, how the position moved under challenge. A built oral-work path can also preserve the student's spoken reasoning, but that path is separately gated.
A Veyay session is a conversation the student sustains: questioned, working from sources, defending a position, revising under challenge. The learning happens in the exchange itself — and it is theirs, in their own voice.
Every session leaves a transcript and a structured record: what was asked, what evidence was used, what position was taken, how it held up under challenge. That's something a teacher can actually read.
When separately activated, Veyay's built oral-work path records a student's answer with a timestamped transcript. That can give an educator an option older than the essay: ask the learner to account for their thinking out loud, on the record. Preserved oral responses are not included in the current proposed adult pilot.
Where oral work is separately activated, speaking can remove a writing barrier without lowering the bar for a student with dyslexia or a writing disability. Read-aloud and a dyslexia-friendly typeface remain available on the way in; oral-response activation is a separate decision.
What an educator gets in the current proposed adult pilot is the written reasoning process, turn by turn. Veyay does not detect AI or prove who wrote what, and does not claim to.
In a public lesson you can read, listen, and exchange written messages with the live coach. Veyay does not save the public lesson to an account; the messages are sent to Veyay's dedicated Microsoft Azure OpenAI route to generate the live reply. Persistent classes, assignments, submissions, and educator review are built, but private pilot access and public enrollment are not open.

The educator reviews the retained conversation, reasoning trail, and submission, then records the grade. Access is not activated by creating an account, and no pilot application form is open.

An asynchronous discussion the whole class reads and posts into. Veyay is a proportional participant by structure, not by promise: in the default modes everything it drafts waits for teacher approval, and where a teacher turns automatic questions on, they are capped per period, pause after the teacher posts, and can only ask fixed-pattern Socratic questions.
The teacher forms the groups — a named roster, never auto-formed, never ranked. Each group gets its own board, optionally its own reasoning lens, and the teacher sees the groups side by side to reconvene the class.
The design rule on the class board and every group board, enforced in code rather than promised: a room where Veyay speaks after every post is a chat bot, not a book club. It guides — the discussion belongs to the students.

Veyay preserves that complete contract through the live conversation, shows it again on the released lesson, and makes every later change a new version rather than quietly rewriting the old one.
